dRofus is proud to have sponsored the Women in BIM (WIB) event in France, which brought together professionals from across the BIM sector. This event marks a significant milestone in the movement toward greater diversity and inclusivity in the BIM field. It was attended by a diverse group of 60 participants, including both men and women, showing strong support for the initiative.

Event Highlights

With 86 registrations and around 60 attendees, the event featured several engaging sessions and discussions aimed at addressing the challenges and opportunities for women in the BIM industry. Among the highlights were:

  • Mentorship Program Presentation: A key focus was the WIB mentorship program, which is open to both men and women. The program encourages more experienced professionals to mentor women entering or advancing in the BIM sector, fostering a supportive and collaborative environment.
  • Round Table Discussion on Gender Challenges in BIM: The heart of the event was a round table discussion on the various societal and personal challenges faced by women in BIM. Topics ranged from gender stereotypes in the workplace to issues like imposter syndrome and the pressures of balancing personal and professional life in a male-dominated industry. The conversation also touched on the benefits that gender diversity brings to companies, such as promoting different perspectives and improving project dynamics.
  • AI and Gender-Based Differences Presentation: An insightful presentation on artificial intelligence and gender-based differences in responses underscored the growing role of technology in understanding and addressing these challenges. The presentation sparked conversations on how AI could be used to create more equitable working environments in the digital and BIM sectors.
  • Networking Cocktail: The evening ended with a networking session, allowing attendees to exchange ideas, make connections, and discuss potential collaborations. Events like these are essential in building a supportive community that encourages more women to pursue careers in BIM.

The Importance of Male Participation

A key takeaway from the event was the importance of male participation in WIB events. Encouraging men to attend and actively engage in discussions is critical to raising awareness about the challenges women face and fostering a more inclusive industry.
