dRofus User Group Oslo 2024: A Day of Innovation and Collaboration

On 8 August 2024, the dRofus User Group in Oslo gathered for a day packed with engaging presentations, group discussions, and networking opportunities. The event was a testament to the vibrant community that dRofus has cultivated, bringing together AEC/O professionals from various fields to share their experiences and insights on leveraging dRofus in their projects.

Welcome and Opening Remarks

The day kicked off at 09:00 with a warm welcome from the dRofus team. This set the tone for a day filled with learning and collaboration.

 

Exploring the Potential of dRofus

The first session, led by Ole Kristian from Rendra & Yamasaki Hiroaki from Takenaka, delved into how Takenaka is utilizing dRofus to optimize their workflows. Their presentation highlighted the practical applications of the software in complex projects, demonstrating its potential to enhance project efficiency.

Following this, Åsmund Johansen from dRofus took the stage to discuss what’s happening "under the hood" of dRofus. His insights gave the audience a deeper understanding of the technical advancements driving the platform forward.

 

Cross-Disciplinary Coordination with dRofus

One of the key themes of the day was the importance of effective cross-disciplinary coordination. Kristoffer Tungland and Jon Jens Ragnarsson from COWI/Multiconsult shared their experiences on how dRofus facilitates seamless collaboration between different disciplines, particularly in the interaction between Mechanical and Electrical engineers.

The late morning sessions focused on optimization. Per Erling Walle from Statsbygg presented on how to maximize the use of dRofus in programming and design projects. His talk was followed by a presentation from Leonardo Nascimento, also from dRofus, who explored the proposed themes and how they can be further developed to meet the needs of users.

 

Group Discussions and Case Studies

After a well-deserved lunch break, participants engaged in group discussions focusing on the use of dRofus in different contexts. The discussions provided a platform for attendees to share their experiences and learn from each other, particularly on the topic of how Artificial Intelligence can be effectively utilized within the platform.

 

In the afternoon, Ingeborg Sand from Sykehusbygg shared use cases on how dRofus is being used in hospital construction projects. Her presentation underscored the importance of having a reliable database system in managing complex healthcare projects.

The day concluded with a summary of key takeaways and a networking session in the dRofus bar, where participants had the chance to discuss the day's insights over pizza and refreshments.
