dRofus and buildingSMART jointly hosted a seminar at the Arts Centre Melbourne on the 13th February 2019. The topic of the seminar is Information at the Centre of Project Success and international as well as local case studies have been presented.
Toby Maple from AECOM and Tim Mumford from Victoria Office of Projects presented together on Victorian and Queensland Government progression in the Digital Engineering landscape. It is then followed by a presentation by dRofus CEO Rolf Jerving on the award winning Oslo Airport T2 project which covered how data is used from design through to operational phase. Graeme Spencer from HDR gave a visually inspiring presentation on how HDR is using data and the power of the data driven design approach. These presentations were then followed by a panel discussion where the speakers were joined by Steve Appleby from AECOM and Dr Collette Burke, Victorian Chief Engineer of the Victoria Office of Projects. Clearly the presence of government representatives was an indication of the impetus at that level in the State; borne out and their contribution to the recently published Victorian Digital Assets Strategy (VDAS).
